THESE MARVELOUS FLYING MACHINES

€38,33

Ever since men have been building flying machines, they have exerted an irresistible fascination on young people between the ages of seven and seventy-seven. Proof of this is the renewed success of aerial events - from regional air shows, through open days, to major international meetings that attract thousands of enthusiasts of modern and vintage aircraft, both civilian and military. For Joe Rimensberger, who comes from this crowd of enthusiasts, aircraft and photography have gone hand in hand for more than forty-five years! He experiences the special excitement of taking pictures of an aircraft in flight from another aircraft, in terms of insiders: air-to-air photography. Especially attracted by the formal aspect and the subtle harmony of each type of aircraft, he focuses his interest on vintage aircraft. Those to which passionate and patient people offer a second life by lovingly restoring them and making them fly again, for the pleasure of the greatest number. Enthusiasm for beautiful vintage machines is boundless. Thanks to him and to the interest shared by many pilots and collectors in Germany, England, Denmark, France, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland, the author has been able to produce thousands of photos, a selection of which regularly illustrate the annual "Aero Retro" calendar published since 1984 by the Association for the Preservation of Aeronautical Heritage (AMPA). With the encouragement of his friends in the aviation world, Joe Rimensberger has gathered in this book a selection of 150 photos, taken in flight, most of them of vintage aircraft... Wishing to share privilege and passion with you, the author offers you not only the pleasure of discovering excellent original shots of rare and precious machines, but also a multitude of carefully documented information on each of the types represented.
