Avi-8 Watches
AVi-8 is an English brand characterized by its aviator type watches. The name of the brand pays tribute to aviation by using the aeronautical code "AV nº", which designates vertical take-off attack aircraft.
AVI-8 watches reflect the classic dashboard of a light aircraft. The aviation codes are respected, with large enough numbers to allow pilots to quickly find their way around. The instruments are represented thanks to the dials of the Chronograph or the calendar. Most of the collections are full of features essential to aviation. Many watches are equipped with a tachymeter. As a reminder, the tachymeter allows to measure the average speed according to the time needed to cover a distance of 1000 meters.
The AV-4052 collection is even equipped with a split-seconds chronograph. This function makes it possible to measure a split time or time two events at the same time. This is a second seconds hand that rotates exactly at the same time as the second hand. Once the pusher is pressed, the split-seconds hand stops while the second hand continues to move. The split-seconds hand returns to the second hand when the push-piece is pressed a second time.
Each collection pays homage to aircraft, mainly of British origin. The Hawker Harrier collection honours the British attack aircraft of the 1960s. It was the first vertical take-off and landing aircraft. Hawker Hurricane watches salute the first monoplane fighter of the Royal Air Force, which distinguished itself particularly during the Second World War.
AVI-8 is a brand that takes care of the smallest details. The back of each case is meticulously worked with a different engraving for each collection. Even the pushers are meticulously studied to achieve a homogeneous design.
