This 336-page book is intended for the glider pilot who wants to have in one place the historical and technical information that will allow him to better understand the evolution of his favourite sport. It is the first chronological compilation of silent flight in France since Eric Nessler's History of 1947. 1,200 dates and 7,000 events are classified year by year... The characteristics and performances of more than 200 gliders and all tugs are listed from the origins to the present day in the form of easy-to-read tables. There is also a descriptive index of 800 names of French gliding and a cartography of the past and present gliding grounds of the metropolis and A.F.N. Twenty-four line profiles and fifty black and white photos illustrate a range of most of the productions. Intended to be frequently consulted, the book is presented in hardcover and in a convenient 17 x 24 format.
