ONBOARD POWER GLIDER

The advent of onboard power gliders has brought about an evolution in gliding. Whether they are autonomous or "turbo" powered, their operation in inexperienced hands would be detrimental. Some pilots believe that the possession of an autonomous or turbo-powered, high-performance glider can make up for their lack of knowledge and shortcomings. This is not the case! Other, more amateur pilots think that a turbo or engine will correct an error in judgement, because all you have to do is start the engine - a gross error. The engine must be a safety factor, not a risk. To master the subject, you need a perfect knowledge of the equipment used and a good command of the environment. The gliding instructors are there to help you. Call on their advice. Nothing is trivial when it comes to discovering a new "machine", even less so when it comes to flying in the hostile environment of the mountains, where man is only tolerated.&nbsp
