DRIVER'S GUIDE: THE PYRENEES

This book is aimed at the pilot who wants to discover the multiple aspects of the Pyrenees by flying through them with this marvellous observation instrument that is the light aircraft. It claims to be to the aviator what the Michelin Guide is to the motorist or the Guide du Routard to the hitchhiker. Not being an official document, it does not replace the documentation contained in the AIP and VAL maps. It merely supplements certain points of a technical or tourist nature, giving the opinion of a driver who knows and loves his region. Since it is not a flight manual either, it assumes that the pilot has already acquired the knowledge necessary to use the altisurfaces. In short, it has for the pilot the same interest as the "topo guides" for the hiker: both a document for the preparation of the flight and a travel companion, it advises without imposing and leaves to the pilot any initiative in the discovery of the Pyrenean mountain range.
