ENGLISH PILOT PRIVATE PILOT MANUAL Volume 2

€25,83

The purpose of this volume II is to give you the ability to fully exploit the aeronautical information necessary for the preparation and conduct of the flight and presented in written form (field sheets, NOTAMS, TAFS & METARS, PIREPS).

This volume is divided into five parts:

1) the first part consists of a collection of examples of aeronautical information, particularly concerning the aerodrome; these sentences, taken from English and American field sheets and accompanied by their translations, are presented according to three classification criteria: thematic, alphabetical and grammatical. You therefore have three types of tools at your disposal that can meet a variety of needs: - you will use the first one if you wish to progressively enrich your vocabulary in order to be able to inform yourself without difficulty on the characteristics of a terrain, - you will occasionally use the second one to search for a word or an expression which is an obstacle to the comprehension of information, - you will rely on the third one to reinforce your mastery of the grammatical structures which are commonly used in aeronautical documentation.
2) the second one presents a vast choice of NOTAMS - English and American - classified by field and accompanied by explanatory notes which will allow you to decipher them easily.
3) the third offers numerous examples of TAFS, METARS & PIREPS, each of them appearing in both coded and clear versions; you will thus be able to carry out the decoding exercises necessary to acquire a perfect command of this type of information.
4) the fourth describes how to fill in a VFR flight plan correctly in Great Britain, Canada and the United States and the advice of the CAA and the FAA on how to request a pre-flight briefing.
5) the fifth presents a glossary of acronyms & abbreviations used in British and American aeronautical documentation.
